Rodrigo Belalcazar, MD - Medical Director and Refractive Surgeon
A native of Colombia, Dr. Belalcazar received his MD there and completed his residency at the Colombian Institute of Ocular Surgery in Bogotá. Dr. Belalcazar underwent Refractive Surgery training at the world famous Instituto Barraquer de America in 1993, The Myopia Ocular Center in Madrid in 1996 and at Park Avenue Laser Vision in New York with Emil W. Chynn, M.D. in 2008. He has performed thousands of Radial Keratotomy (RK) surgeries, over 2,500 cataract and corneal transplants at the Surgical Ocular Institute Palermo, and was Director of the Eye Clinic at the University Foundation of San Martin. He has performed over 4,000 LASIK procedures. Dr. Belalcazar received the Colombian Culture & Heritage Award for his professional achievement and service to the community. He became a US citizen, completed a Pediatrics residency at Driscol Children’s Hospital - Texas A. & M., is certified by the Educational Council for Foreign Medical Graduates of Medical Examiners, and licensed by the State Medical Boards of Florida, New York and Texas. He enjoys marathons, rock climbing, & scuba. Dr. Belalcazar is Member of The American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and The International Society of Refractive Surgery.

Joseph Selem. M.D Cataract , cosmetic specialist and surgeon
Dr. Selem is one of a handful of skilled surgeons in the country trained in his unique specialty. Dr. Selem graduated Magna Cum Laude from Emory University in Atlanta and then attended Ponce School of Medicine, where he received his medical degree. After finishing his medical education, Dr. Selem completed his internship at Frankfort Hospital in Philadelphia and a residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Texas-Houston located in the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical center in the world and home to one of the busiest trauma centers in the nation. Following his training in Houston, Dr. Selem received specialty training in eyelid and facial plastic surgery, as well as body liposuction, at The Bassin Center for Plastic Surgery in Florida under the preceptorship of Dr. Roger Bassin, M.D., a pioneer in body liposuction and an eyelid and facial plastic surgery specialist.

Smith Blanc. OD
Dr. Smith Blanc obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Business at the University of South Florida in 2005. He then pursued his professional dreams at Nova Southeastern University in the College of Optometry. During his educational experience he obtained numerous accolades, such as being inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa Fraternity, making the Dean’s list every semester, graduating with Honors, inducted into the Golden Key Society, and graduating in the top twenty percent of his class.
Furthermore, Dr. Blanc is highly active in the community. He participates in numerous health fairs, screenings and has completed six medical mission trips abroad which includes 4 in Jamaica and 2 in Haiti (one following the devastating earthquake). Dr. Blanc also served as president and vice president of the NSU’s Chapter of National Optometric Student Association. Dr. Blanc also holds a board seat in the Broward County Optometric Association and remains an active member with the Florida Optometric Association. Dr. Blanc went on to complete residency specializing in Cornea and Contact Lenses at Nova Southeastern University college of Optometry in the year of 2010.
